What Does Full & Partial Rewires Involve?

Full & Partial Rewires from TR1C Electrical give your property safe, modern wiring you can rely on for years to come. A full rewire means replacing all the electrical cables, sockets, switches and fittings throughout a property, bringing everything up to current wiring regulations from the consumer unit right through to the light fittings. It is usually needed in older homes where the wiring is out of date, has been patched together over the years, or is no longer considered safe. Not every property needs a complete rewire, though. A partial rewire focuses on just the rooms or circuits that need attention, such as an extension, a kitchen refurbishment, or a single problem circuit, without disturbing the rest of the property. Ryan will assess what your home actually needs during the free survey, rather than recommending more work than necessary. Whichever type of rewire is right for your property, Ryan works through it room by room, keeping disruption to a minimum, protecting flooring and furniture, and always explaining what he is doing and why. Once the job is complete, every circuit is fully tested and a completion certificate is issued on the same day, giving you the paperwork you need for insurance, mortgage, or peace of mind.

A typical three bed property takes around three to five days. Ryan will give you a more accurate estimate once he has seen the job.
Most people stay in their home during a rewire. Ryan works through the property room by room rather than disconnecting everything at once, so there is always somewhere to live, cook, and sleep while the work is ongoing. Bedrooms and living areas are usually left until last if possible, and the water and heating stay on throughout unless there is a specific reason they need to be isolated. There will be some disruption, particularly noise and dust while cables are chased into walls, and the power will need to go off in whichever room is being worked on for periods during the day. Ryan will always talk you through what to expect before the job starts, including which rooms will be affected on which days, so you can plan around it. For larger rewires or if you have particular circumstances, such as young children, pets, or someone working from home, it is worth mentioning this during the free survey so Ryan can factor it into how the job is scheduled.
Ryan takes care to keep disruption to a minimum and always tidies up after himself. Some decoration may be needed after the cables are chased in.
Yes. All rewire work is tested and certified on completion. You will receive your certificate the same day.
Most home insurance policies do not cover the cost of a rewire, but having up-to-date wiring can help you get a better premium. Check with your insurer.
Ryan will agree a start date with you once he has seen the property and understands the scope of work. For most jobs he can fit you in within a few weeks, though this can vary depending on how busy things are. If you have a specific deadline in mind, let him know when you get in touch and he will do his best to work around it.
